I have to rescan my library every time I disconnect my external hard drive because the drive letter changes when I plug in my external hard drive back into my PC… it doesn’t do it all the time but once in awhile …once I plug it back into my computer the drive letter does change what is causing this to do that?
Wow thanks a lot I’m sure that’ll do the trick I was sick and tired of rescanning my library. Especially when I have over a thousand on each hard drive
You should probably disable the “Empty Trash automatically” setting too. In Settings >> Library in Plex Web.
If the drive is temporarily disconnected, and that option is enabled, Plex will delete the information associated with the files, and you will have to re-scan again, even if it is the same drive letter.
