Hi there!
I haven’t been able to get the PMS on my Drobo 5N to update past 1.1.4.2757. According to the downloads section, the latest release is 1.4.1.3362-77c6a4f80 on February 10, 2017. Previously I’ve stopped the PMS through the Drobo Dashboard, put the plex.tgz file in the DroboApps folder (yes the .tgz file, not a .tar file), rebooted the Drobo 5N and then restarted the PMS and everything was updated and fine. And the plex.tgz file disappears from DroboApps after the install completes successfully. Now it just doesn’t update and the plea.tgz file remains, as if it is being ignored.
I’ve tried everything in the Drobo section thread that people suggested, like deleting the .servicerc file repeatedly before the Drobo reboots, etc but nothing seems to work.
I have been having the same problem! Exactly - Drobo 5N, same version of Plex running…and it keeps telling me to update update update manually. I’ve done exactly the same thing as you except for the fact that I was never able to update ever.
Am hoping someone will be able to post a solution to this?
So…no one is going to answer this question for us, I see…
Not sure what to say guys. I’m currently running 1.4.1.3362, and got there in the normal way. Since there’s another update, I’ll try to apply it and report my results.
So, just ran the update in about 15 minutes. Downloaded the tgz. Dropped it in the DroboApps folder and rebooted the drobo. Pulled up dashboard, and after everything eventually settled down, I went to the apps section and started the Plex app. Just connected with a browser and it’s reporting 1.4.3.3433.
For what it’s worth, firmware version is 3.5.12 and Dashboard is 2.8.5 (Have yet to upgrade to 3.0). Not sure why it’s not working for you guys, all though going back into Drobo Apps and explicitly starting the app is new as of the last few revs, from what I can remember.
