Server Version#: 1.24.3.5033
Player Version#: n/a
I have a Synology 920 which was recently upgraded to DSM 7.0-41890, then I deleted my previous version of Plex Media server and installed “PlexMediaServer-1.24.3.5033-757abe6b4-x86_64_DSM7.spk” which was downloaded directly from the Plex/ downloads page.
I did the installation and reset the libraries to refer to my existing folder structure:
multimedia
- movies
- music
- tv
I followed the directions and allowed R/W access to the multimedia folder to the Plex internal user account.
When clicking on Movies or TV Shows, initially nothing showed up.
Then I did a rescan of each library and the movies showed up with a garbage can over many of the movie titles. I did a test and clicked on a few and the movies played. Because it was a “new” install, I decided to reboot my NAS and then let the system settle and do its regular maintenance overnight.
Today I logged in and the libraries were empty! I rescanned and the TV Shows and Movies started showing up. But when the scan was completed, I lost nearly half my movie library (from 796 movies down to 400 in the library, 409 in the movies folder). I have checked the system recycle bin but the missing movie files are not there.
I haven’t checked the TV Shows or Music folders, but I do know I am missing movies. ![]()
Questions
- Any idea how to restore these movies?
- Is thee a log files indicating what was deleted?
- Where do I restore them from?
- What setting do I need to change to prevent movies from being deleted going forward?
FYI: I have backups to different QNAP NAS on-site, and an off-site backup to an AWS Glacier bucket - but I wanted to check to see if I could retrieve these files locally before bringing them back from the alternate NAS.
Any assistance is appreciated.
Thanks
