DTS 96/24 not working in Plex

Good Afternoon

A mate of mine has asked me to create some mkv 5.1 music video’s. All he gave me were the .AC3 & 96/24 DTS files of the albums. I have created some slideshow video’s of the album art and track information in photo’s on Windows 10 (saves as a 1080p H264 .mp4 file) and joined the files together with mkvtoolnix.

However when I play the files through Plex it transcodes the 96/24 DTS files to Dolby Digital. This does not happen with my Genesis 2007 remasters that are also encoded in 96/24 DTS and they play fine showing up as 96/24 DTS on my AV amp. Also when I put the completed file onto a USB stick and play the file in my blu ray player the amp shows it as 96/24 DTS.

Also plex only allows one stream to be chosen even though checking the file info on the server there are 2 audio streams. I can also switch between the 2 streams on the blu ray player.

I am using a Roku Premiere as a streaming device and plays DTS, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital+ and DTS 96/24 perfectly.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Kind Regards

Which client type?
Passthrough activated? (if available & applicable)
Local to the server or remotely?

Thank you for your reply.

I the client the Roku? If not can you let me know what you mean?

How do you activate passthrough. As the other .mkv files with 96/24 DTS sound work I would assume that that would not be the problem.

Also the server and the Roku are on the same network.

The client is usually the thing where you press Playback.

Please get the content of the Plex XML info from both the file where it is working and the file where it is failing.
