All - I can't get this to work.. Using OSX and Safari. There are no "match" options when i right-click, just the normal Safari right-click stuff.
I don't see it listed under Settings > TV Agents either.
I see The Movie Database, Local Media Assets, Plex Theme Music, and TheTVdb.
Help?
In case it hasn't been said, here is the location to add the plug-in on Mac OSX:
~/Library/Application\ Support/Plex\ Media\ Server/Plug-ins/
Then simply stop the plex media server and restart it. At that point, you can "Fix Incorrect Match" on the main series listing, choose "Search Options" and then change the "Agent" to "TheTVDBdvdorder".
Am I doing something wrong here? I am trying to get this working on my Windows 7 PMS but it does not want to recognize the agent at all.
Here are the steps I performed:
1. Copy the TV Shows.xml file into the folder `C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server\Plug-in Support\Metadata Combination\com.plexapp.agents.thetvdbdvdorder`
2. Unzip the contents of the .zip file to the folder `C:\Program Files (x86)\Plex\Plex Media Server\Resources\Plug-ins` such that in the plugins folder there is a folder "DVD Order Agent.bundle" and inside it is a folder "Contents", similar to the other packages in the plug-ins folder.
3. Restart PMS.
4. Open Firefly show view > options > "Fix incorrect Match" > "Search Options" > Agent dropdown.
Here is what I get:

Yep. As described in Plex Wiki, and several discussions within the plugins forum and this thread.
Glad you got it straightened out.
For me, the plugin works fine for Invader ZIM's first season but it doesn't for season 2. It doesn't fetch anything at all. I tried to rename the files from "Episode 21..., Episode 22..." to "01..., 02...", put them all in the same folder but still nothing. Anybody managed to get data for both seasons of Invader ZIM to work properly? Is there any trick that must be done? Thanks for helping me!

The TVDB has them numbered really odd on the DVD order listing.

Thanks for the suggestion. The odd numbering is because one file often contains two episodes. For instance, episode 2 appears like "Bestest Friend / NanoZIM" in Plex. The files on the server are numbered like "01..., 02..." and so on until "20..." for season 1. Season 2 starts with episode 21 but for some reason the information isn't matched at all. As it works for season 1, I don't understand why it doesn't for season 2...
Edit: Strange... I had to edit each episode from season two to realise that the information was there. After saving, the titles magically appeared. Maybe this is a browser's cache issue or just a bug with Plex. At least everything is good!

From the original post instructions, you shouldn't have had to do each episode, only the season. But, if each video from DVD contains more than one show, that's likely the issue. You'd have to have named them individually split, just like thetvdb has them.
As I said, I have the files named with both episodes names just like the screenshot in the first post of this thread.

I have it enabled.
I can't get it working either. DVD Order is correct thanks to the agent, but theme music does not work when using the DVD Order Agent.
Checked and it is "Checked" in Plex Media Server.
Also tried modifying the PlexThemeMusic agent but to no avail. Simply won't play theme music, but works for series where metadata was downloaded using the TVDB agent (standard agent with plex).
Re: Theme music. I'm pretty sure you have to "Check" it in the agent too.

Sorry, I tried. That's the most common miss. As long as you have that checked, the actual play theme music setting on the server checked, the CLIENT play theme is capable/checked, and the show has theme at whatever database Plex uses (That I saw somewhere but now forget, check the wiki), it should work.
it doesn't. something is amiss. i just unmatched firefly and when rematching there is no theme music. if you got the theme music with a previously working version of agent it might still be cached in metadata bundle but it doesn't work now.

However I have Space Precinct and the files are in Production order rather than airdate too. Which is the correct order? do I need to rename my files to as both DVDorder and TVDB list them by Airdate :(
On TVDB, Space Precinct, DVD Order seems to be exact same as Aired Order
Not sure renaming them would help you. You could rename the "S#E#" to match proper ordering, but then you run risk of Plex grabbing metadata for the actual title of the show and placing it in the order it thinks is correct in the first place.
It looks like that's the way to go as the production order was different to the aired order. As you quite rightly point out the DVD order keeps to the airdate rather than the production date.
