it works for me when i use the movie database agent when doing a fix incorrect match rather than the dvdorder agent

Just to verify that I'm understanding correctly:
I run PMS 0.9.9.10 on a Synology NAS.
I can take the latest DVD Order Agent Bundle.zip, and put the "DVD Order Agent.bundle" folder in Plex\Library\Application Support\Plex Media Server\Plug-ins, restart the PMS, and I'm good?
I saw a lot of posts about people having to put things in Apdata in Windows, but that's N/A for me. Is there something else I have to stick somewhere? And I'm to ignore the _MACOSX folder in the bundle.zip, right?
Just thought I'd ask before I ignorantly broke something. :-)
You know, this sort of thing is very hard to do. I mean for any given DVD there are like 20 variants and sometimes that all in the same region. So, you'd have to have not only a database of all DVDs, but also all 20 variants of all DVDs. Definitely a good agent to have, but I'd think almost impossible to even be anywhere near complete (but you know if the agent DB is community maintained world wide with an active community... who knows?)
IMHO, we're talking about a scale not really dealt with before (e.g. it's going to be harder than thetvdb, etc...)... and those existing agent engines don't always have what you need.
oh... and before somebody asks, yes, often times those variants disgree on "order" (otherwise it wouldn't be nearly as big a problem)
Just an observation.

I'm not *too* clear on the Synology, but AFAIK yeah, just plop the bundle in the "Plug-Ins" folder and restart PMS. "AppData" under Windows is like "Application Support" on OS X (and presumably Syn as well) so don't worry about that. The "_MACOSX" folder in the zip can be ignored, it's just a resource fork with things like metadata for the zip file and is only really used for legacy versions of OS X if I recall.
G'luck! :)
I'm not able to get this to work for Home Movies s4: http://thetvdb.com/index.php?tab=season&seriesid=75318&seasonid=8730&lid=7&order=dvd
I've tried removing and adding it from my library but it always is using the aired order.
BigWheel's post below yours can do the trick for you, but I also posted a solution here about flushing PMS's cached info when fixing the match. Since TheTVDB has the correct DVD order (I presume, since it varies from the Aired order) the correct ordering should get pulled when you flush the old bundle.
Note to self: Get hold of the devs and see if it is worth adding a request to flush unused bundles after unmatching when using "Fix Incorrect Match".
I've gone through a few different steps that have been posted, but I can't seem to keep the metadata for the show once I switch to theTVDBdvdorder agent. Specifically with The Office, I can have either metadata or correct episode order, but not both. Anyone else running into this issue or have a solution for it? Could it stem from there being no additional agents for theTVDBdvdorder agent?
It's odd that that should happen since, from what I can tell, the DVD order number is just an extra key in the episode's entry in the database, so whether the agent matches by that key, or by the Aired order number key, it should pull the same information.
I have often found that if my connection is poor, sometimes the metadata is not correctly pulled from the database (possibly due to timing out? I'm not sure). The latest versions of PMS automatically refresh all the metadata in your library every few days and should pull any missing data then, but if not, and at the risk of sounding like a stuck record, try my solution posted here to clean out the bundle and download a fresh copy.
Let me know how you go. :)
Worked like a charm for Futurama, thank you!
Just wanted to say thanks! Downloaded the bundle, put it in the appropriate folder, and boom! Batman the Animated Series fixed! Many thanks for your hard work making this easy on users like me!
Am I correct in understanding that sorting by DVD order vs Aired can't be done on a show by show basis? I'd like to just enable DVD sorting for certain series.
EDIT: Disregard, I see that the solution is to use the "fix incorrect match" menu for a specific show.
This works wonderfully! Thanks for all the information...finally Firefly is populated correctly!
Wow! I have been ripping all sorts of DVD box sets that I acquired over the years. This was driving me nuts with all sorts of Adult Swim shows like Sealab 2021, Harvey Birdman, Aqua Teen, Robot Chicken, etc. It took me forever to figure out how to coordinate everything and then save it all. I finally looked at thetvdb.com and figured out why this was happening.
For some reason (perhaps a bug?) my manual edits wouldn't save unless I left the rating alone. Nulling it out for some reason would cause my changes to not be saved. So once I figured that out, I could update the fields manually (leaving the rating alone) and lock them. This was finally working but it was a lot of effort.
Found this thread and installed the plug-in and now -- PROBLEM SOLVED! Thank you all so much!
unfortunately i cant get this to work.
Got it!!
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex Media Server\
i was in the wrong appdata folder
I've noticed this issue for a while in Plex. This works beautifully for Firefly. Thanks for the plug-in work and thanks for the .zip file!
Okay, I've managed to get myself really confused by reading this thread. Can someone tell me if this agent will help solve this situation? The kids' show "CatDog" was originally aired as 66 episodes, most with two storylines per episode, which is how I have them stored (e.g. "CatDog - S01E01 - Dog Gone / All You Can't Eat.mkv"). In their infinite wisdom, the TheTVDB folks have split all of these up into individual storylines but have NOT specified any DVD episode numbers for them. Assuming I can get the series unlocked (already requested) and can update the episodes there so (using my example) the two storylines have DVD episode numbers 1.1 and 1.2, will this solve my issue? Or do I instead need to rename all of my media to include both TheTVDB episode numbers, such as "CatDog - S01E01-E02 - Dog Gone / All You Can't Eat.mkv"? Not sure which approach is best to get me to the desired state of Plex not showing the "real" episode 2 as the second half of episode 1.
EDIT: Disregard. I ended up just renaming the episodes.
Been trying to get this thing to work to change the order of Firefly to DVD order... Can't figure it out for the life of me.
Edit: Got Firefly to the correct order, but now have no theme music. Killed one bird and another took its place it seems.

Have to enable it for the new metadata plugin.

I have it enabled.
Trying this agent, but all I get is the message "No Matches Were Found When Using This Agent" when I try correctly ordering my Futurama episodes. No sure what's wrong.
I love this so much. Thank you x1000!!
