DVD Order Agent

Awesome! Thanks so much. I’ve been waiting for this feature since Plex9. I’m a daily board reader, just never came upon this thread until today. Fixed Firefly, Futurama, Animaniacs and Ren & Stimpy!

Again, works great. Many thanks.

I'm having an issue with the DVD order. Using Star Trek: The Next Generation as an example it seems to assign S01E01 to 1.1 and S01E02 to 1.2 from theTVdb as if it's using aired order. It also fails to pull the descriptions, season posters and banners for the series.

It is not working for “The Adventures of Tintin”: http://www.thetvdb.com/index.php?tab=seasonall&id=72668&lid=7&order=dvd

I am trying to match S01E01, S01E02, S01E03 and S01E04 (the first 4 episodes in DVD Order) and it matches correctly only the first one “Tintin in America”, all other 3 are wrong. I also tried it in 2 different languages: English and Spanish, and in both cases it matches only the first one correctly, but all other 3 are wrong and are differently for both languages. TIA!

It works on that one for me:

It combines Encounter at Farpoint (1) and Encounter at Farpoint (2) to form the episode Encounter at Farpoint, and merges the descriptions.

Did you set the agent using the "Match Using" setting, or as the primary agent for the section?

This one I can reproduce. Let me investigate.

Match Using.

I think it is just an issue with fetching the data in general and not this meta agent. TNG finally showed up right but The X-Files among many others are still buggered. Lots of missing banners and posters.

That was an insidious little bug!

Here’s an updated version:

DVDorder.plexapp (187 KB)

While investigating this problem I noticed a problem in thetvdb data for this show (although it’s not what was breaking the agent). The DVD order is not set properly. If on the DVD the two “episodes” are joined together to form a single episode, they should be named 2.1 and 2.2 (assuming they’re joined together to make episode 2). I’m assuming that this is the case here, since all the episodes after the first one have (1) or (2) appended to the episode title, and the DVD order numbering skips over all the part 2’s. I renumbered the parts for DVD episodes 2 and 3 as examples, but since I’m working on an assumption here, I don’t want to go further than that and mess somebody’s work up. If you update the dvd-order numbering over there (you just need to create a free account) you’ll have better data retrieved by the agent. (Just note that it does take a day or two for changes to be reflected in what the agent is able to download.)

THANK YOU!

This was driving me nuts on plex 9. And I’m just about to make my GF start Firefly and it was displaying all out of order (aka how Fox aired it). Thanks for the fix! Works great (at least on Firefly).

THANK YOU. I know that this is all this topic has become, is a board of thank you notes, but really thank you so much, Raindancing!

I kind of wish I had found this last night after splitting up all my Invader Zim episodes and re-ordering them until 4:30 AM, but lesson learned. hahaha

But I’m glad someone got this thing fixed since the Devs weren’t doing anything towards this goal. haha Now we just need a fix for the huge annoying list of options that gets between you, and your movie/TV watching experience.

I’m fairly tech savvy most of the time, but something about Plex is really unintuitive for me. All that to say, I’m sure whatever problem I’m having is entirely my own making.

I installed the latest version of the plug-in, followed the instructions as best I could. Everything is working great except the theme music. I did enable it in metadata agent.

Thanks for working on this  Would it be difficult to support naming in the format DxxExx as well? I use this naming because the metadata tagger I use (iDentify) uses that to identify that I want to use DVD ordering and it makes it clear to me which shows are in DVD order and which are in aired order. Thanks!

I can’t seem to get this to work with Seinfeld, it just sits at the empty grey box

Anyone know why this won’t work with seinfeld? It works for some of my other tv shows

Ok, it’s working now. I uninstalled and reinstalled it. So when two episodes are joined to make one how should this be named? Seinfeld s03e15.1and15.2 This doesn’t work.

To be clear season 3 episodes 15 and 16 are in one file.

This is not working right for Seinfeld, any idea. Can you give me a full example of how it's should be labeled seinfeld s03e??

Thanks

Thanks for this! Now we just have to wait till MidgetSpy discovers more hours in the day…

Hi, Does this work for Windows media server?

THanks,

R

Hi Raindancing,

I would love to use this app, but I’m a windows server user. I can’t install the plexapp installer - is there any chance you could post the updated version as a zip bundle again (like you did at the beginning of this thread)?

Thanks in advance!

R

Still can’t get Seinfeld to work right

So am I the only one that has a problem with Seinfeld with this?

How do I name seinfeld season 3 episode 15 and 16? Both these episode are in one file.

Thanks
