DVD ripping

Hi,

I’m running Plex through OMV on a Raspberry Pi.
I just have a general question about DVD ripping.

I’m using MakeMKV on a MacBook Pro to convert DVD’s and drop the output into my networked Plex drive.
I’m happy with the quality and all that, but it looks like the DVD is split into chapters and each chapter is presented in Plex as it they were separate films.

What would be the best way to rip my DVD’s so that each film shows as one ‘film’ with all chapters contained within?

…better still, is there a way to exactly replicate a DVD player with menus etc?

MakeMKV can create both… either MKV files for all the videos or 1 backup file with the entire content of the DVD incl. menu. If the structure of the DVD is not only containing individual movie / extra files but has them split into chapters, MakeMKV will reflect those files. For most DVDs however it’s just enough to look for the largest output file as that one represents the movie itself.

Plex won’t import/play the full-disk backup.
