DVR Analog TV with WinTV-HVR-955Q or other device possible?

I still receive many NTSC analog VHF channels that do not have digital counterparts and would like to DVR some shows. The Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-955Q supports NTSC analog and is supported by Plex, so in theory should allow me to record analog shows. Is anyone using this or another device successfully to record analog TV via Plex?

I don’t know the answer, but I was curious by your question. Where are you located that analog NTSC signals are still being used? Most countries have switched over to digital years ago. Here in the US, the large stations stopped in 2010 and all smaller stations had to stop by 2015.

I’m in the US, maybe I should not “out” my cable company, it is not one of the big ones and they serve a lot of small and rural markets. They supply encrypted digital channels that require a cable box, but also a set of clear QAM channels and a bunch of old-fashioned analog channels, some of which are not included in the clear QAM set. I do not have their premium digital service/cable box, and I am happy with the QAM channel set and my HD HomeRun. Yet my wife wants to record shows from the analog channels, and she couldn’t care less that they are not high-def.
