I do not think a Plex Team member has ever responded here.
Same exact issue here. As a Lifetime supporter I’m super annoyed that Plex has not acknowledge the issue.

Are you manually doing this via handbrake or some converter, or are you using Plex’s optimize? I’ve been tempted to do the same, just because my wife is starting to become so frustrated with this issue that she’s wanting to drop Plex completely and just move back to Cable…
All I’m doing with Handbreak is taking the .ts file after comskip and encoding to .mp4 with the default setting for the aspect ratio that matches the .ts file
