audio does not sync up post commercial removal

So I am trying to use the commercial removal process via Plex and it does work pretty well; however, what is really odd is that after the first commercial skip and when the show starts again (Family Guy and Simpsons) the voice no longer syncs up. I have never had a problem with this before and I am willing to think the problem is with the commercial process. I have since turned off this feature but i really would like to use it. I am using an HD Extend tuner with a Synology DS416 Play for my NAS. My NAS has a gig of DDR and wonder if perhaps it’s not powerful to do this. Any ideas on how to fix this? thanks

I am facing the same issue. I am using Raspberry pi Server, and WD My Cloud Mirror NAS. Recordings with Commercial Removal NOT selected are fine, but when Commercial Removal is selected, the voice is totally out of sync. This needs to get fixed to make the brilliant new feature usable!

I have had the same issue and a similar issue. Post commercial removal the audio was repeating and skipping and the video was jerking. I recorded A Christmas story live at at the first commercial break it was messed up and for the remaining of the show it was messed up. Ruined the whole recording. I wish that Plex would save a copy of the recording pre commercial cut in-case something like this happens.

I’ve had a similar issues with Marvel’s Agents of Shield. The past 2 weeks the episode starts out fine, but then suddenly the audio goes out of sync and repeats a few seconds at a time. I have tried skipping forward to see if it resolves itself, but the whole rest of the recording is ruined.

I just updated to 1.11.0.4633 as of this posting and the notes say:
(Transcoder) Support HDMI frame rate and dynamic range switching on the Apple TV 4K (#7778)
I am using an Apple TV and although I updated the problem is still there. Interestingly though if i watch the same show on my Mac it’s fine and does not skip at all. Hope this is resolved soon, have to live using FF commercials for now.

I have had this problem for a while. Mostly on hour long shows and in the 2nd half of the recorded show. Is there a fix?

I never had this problem with the free version of mcebuddy. I might go back to it…

Another user with the same problem. Doesn’t seem to happen all the time, but it certainly makes the recording unwatchable when it happens. I’m going to have to turn this feature off until its working properly.

Yeah I have seen this from time to time as well on recordings and stopping the playback and resuming seems to get it back in sync. I have used commskip outside of Plex and haven’t encountered this in the behavior in the past.

I did see you can setup a custom commskip.ini I think and modify the default settings used by Plex so let me see what can be adjusted and maybe if this helps with the audio sync issue messing with that.

As BlackNotice mentioned this does not seem to be an issue with playback outside of Plex which might point back to an issue in Plex but let me do a bit of testing on my end before ringing bells.
