Not sure what is going on but after the latest update my DVR is completely deleting any shows that I had it set to record. Not just the last episode, it’s removing the entire folder from the library. It’s also not occurring just when the show is set to record either as it happened over the weekend and the show only airs M-F. I’ve seen others reporting this in Reddit but haven’t seen it reported here.
Not positive if this is the DVR or Plex in general either but figured I’d start here since the only shows being deleted are ones that I have set or had set to record via the DVR.
Check the “Keep” and “Delete episodes after playing” options for the show.
I\s possible that the settings you have there are resulting in it deleting the episodes before.
Also, I believe those options apply across all episodes of that show in your library not just the ones recoded by DVR.
Hi @gadgetchannel and thx for the reply. Below are my settings. I’ve toggled them on and off over the past few days with no success. It seems that no matter how they are set the entire directory for this show disappears. Not just the season and specials folders but the entire top level directory. It’s also odd cause I’ve got so many other shows in my library but its only occurring to ones that I have set to record via the DVR.
This is happening to me too. Same plex version. It started when I noticed my recordings had incorrect date, one day previous. I was going to let it go and wait for plex update. Then I noticed recordings being missed. I looked through the logs but couldn’t figure it out. I didn’t see the full extent of what was happening yet. I updated to Version 1.26.1.5772 hoping to resolve the date issues I’ve read about on the forums. I ran for a day and checked this morning to find everything that was scheduled to record yesterday is wiped out completely, folder and all. Local news and late night shows folders missing. One new show recorded and stayed “the Endgame” but wheel of fortune and Jeopardy and local news all gone with folder missing. Yet guide says successful. One interesting bit, the Tonight show, plex deleted everything one month prior. Older recordings remain. Anything from April is gone, but older recordings are still there. I’ve downgraded to 1.25 for now, hopeful to stop the bleeding. Which logs show the housekeeping? I cant seem to find which one. Do I need to turn on Verbose?
@DaRT3211 you are seeing the same thing that I was. The entire folder disappears but just for shows that I’ve got set to record via the DVR function. However for me the issue has gone away without anything being done on my side. The only thing that I did was toggle the keep settings options as I noted above which didn’t resolve the issue right away but then about a week ago everything started staying and to be honest I am at a complete loss as to how or why. The only thing that did happen was that I had a power outage at my house and had to reboot my infrastructure and machines running my Plex system but I’ve restarted those several times before without any affect on this. At this time though my system is behaving normally and the episodes are not deleting any more.
