Edit : Just adding that “todays” screenshot should actually have been a live football match. The rugby match is later-on in the day.

Well it’s that time of year again for me to post about problems with recordings, revolving around the Six Nations Rugby Union matches. Each year, for the past 3 (or is it more?) I’ve had problems. This year is no different.

The first set of matches, last week, all recorded fine. This weekend, the DVR/EPG is literally missing the scheduling data for the matches. You can see in the images, that before and after the allocated/scheduled time of the matches, there are show names. Meaning the whole line-up is not broken, it’s just specifically these matches.

When will DVR in Plex actually become something you can rely on? At this point, I don’t have a back XMLTV solution, as it’s been “offline” for the past 3 months.

The above images are mainly from yesterday (2025/02/08) when I found there was an issue, with the final image being for today (2025/02/09).

Just came to complain about the same issue for the exact same sport! Yesterday ITV was “Unknown Airing” which apparently breaks the Android TV client because in that case you can’t even watch that channel. Today both BBC and ITV are “To Be Announced”. Thankfully the match is on BBC today so I can just use iPlayer which always works better.

I hear ya! It’s just crazy that this Plex feature is just so unreliable at times. I used to run Jellyfin with OTA EPG (XML), but that’s currently offline  (edit: this is now online again :+1:)

For anyone else looking at this, here’s the screenshot for BBC One, and the fact I’ve now missed half of the match!
