Since the DVR EPG changes a month or so ago I’ve not been able to get any programme info in the DVR EPG despite manual refreshes and recreating the DVR - I just seen ‘ITV programming’, etc. This means the DVR is useless in the UK as far as I can tell. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix or are seeing the same issue? It all used to work perfectly before the changes!
Me too.
I’ve just posted a similar question to you.
Mine’s only happened from this week.
Can set any recordings.
Deleted, re-installed, rescanned, tried other post code regions.
Nothing works.
At least it’s not just me! It worked initially but in the last week or so this has happened, so sounds like the same issue. I’ve tried different EPG sources (BT Vision, Freeview, Freesat, you name it) and the same issue is there.
Plex Support - has something changed that’s broken UK Freeview programming? It’s unusable without a proper guide.
Same for me with Wales Freeview OTA. I’ve had reasonable EPG data during the recent problems, lots of errors with the listing information and needing daily manual refreshes but just about usable. Today I have no data until Friday and manual refreshes don’t seem to help.
The issue today and yesterday could be the one caused by overlapping airing data and the old generic entry is showing up on Plex Web. Some client apps eg Plex for iOS and Plex for tvOS are resilient to some degree to the overlaps. It has been referred to our EPG team
If you never got any program data, then it could be something else and would like to see debug logs collected from the server 10 minutes after launch

@sa2000 I have just completed my weekly manual refresh of the EPG (due to it failing to automatically update). However, this manual update has not been successful.
I am now looking at an EPG where a lot of channels (BBC1, BBC2, ITV1 etc) are just showing BBC 1 Programming etc.
I have deleted and reinstalled the DVR - I use Freeview Central (West) OTA Broadcast.
I really wish that Plex had not changed the EPG - yes a weekly manual refresh was a pain but at least that was all it took to get it to work. However, it is largely now unusable in the UK.Plex Media Server Logs_2019-08-05_14-12-17.zip (4.4 MB)
@sa2000 I have just updated PMS to the latest server that was just released.
The EPG issue has persisted. I deleted the DVR again and reinstated but no improvement.

I too, have spent all afternoon, trying to find out why I have no programmes schedule for this week, yes I am on the latest version as far as Plex goes - 1.16.3.1402, so why am I not able to see any programmes for this week, all the channels says is BBC1 Programming, BBC2 programmimg, etc etc, there is nothing - no schedule at all!
I have removed DVR, rebooted server, then add it back in, still no joy, and tried different provider for my area - still no joy! So looks like we have nothing to record all week.
Shame on you, I just joined Plex Pass as an lifetime member, and straight away I hit this problem - not very good - I want reliability! Looks like I will be sticking to MediaPortal, as that is working fine at the moment and has done so for the last 10years, and wonder if I will be able to junk it soon, as we all moved onto NAS/NUC type server.
Very disappointed.
I also have been through this painful bug. Deleting and recreating the dvr, changing provider and programme assignments, all to no avail. This all started when plex decided to re-source the programme data provider and leaves us users with no possibility of a dvr even though we paid for it.
Can PLEX support please advise when they will fix this (or if)? It’s been a while and I have seen nothing useful from them on this.
I have the same issue with Freeview Anglia OTA (& all others that I’ve tried). Schedules which were there yesterday have simply disappeared following a guide refresh. This occurs on both my ‘live’ Plex server running 1.16.3.1402 & my ‘test’ Plex server running 1.16.3.1433. Clearly this is not a local issue and requires work at the Plex support end to resolve. Could this be related to a change made over the weekend to the Plex home page?
Annoyingly the EPG had seemed like it was becoming more reliable over the last week, although long outstanding (and reported) issues such as ‘081 Talking Pictures’ not showing any film flagged as a film remains unacknowledged and unresolved.
Whilst there may be different problems lurking here, I’m seeing a repeat of the problems that were cured in the EPG data a week or so ago, namely the guide looks OK from iPhone / iPad but from the web interface it’s showing “Channel Name” - programming. I believe Plex cured this by purging the EPG stream on the " Freeview-National Lineup United Kingdom OTA Broadcast" feed by purging some weird 24 hour entries that each different client platform was displaying differently - iOS devices OK, web interface wrong.
This is happening again right now.
It would be good if we could have fixed problems remain fixed !!!
@sa2000 thanks for your message and advice. I’ve looked at my iOS clients and they do show programmes but the server / web interface doesn’t, and as a result the recordings for those channels aren’t taking place. It looks like the 24 hour issue you suggest but is still persisting after many guide refreshes and DVR deletes/re-creates. It looks like everyone using the DVR in the UK has this issue right now?
UPDATE. if I access the a Guide on my iPhone or iPad, all programmes are there and look normal. None of the e.g. “BBC1 Programming” messages i am seeing on the web app.
I’ll post this on the other thread discussing the same subject in case it’s of use to anyone.
I’ve just tried a manual guide refresh and the issue is still there. Looking at the other threads around the EPG / duplicate info / etc. then it’s still an issue.
I think this needs to be fixed as a priority as the Gracenote service worked perfectly and this new one completely breaks Plex for me and pretty much everyone else in the UK!
I think it’s either a commitment from Plex to revert to Gracenote until it can be fixed, or commitment to a fix being a top priority for the next few days?
I’m also hoping to see a resolution to this. DVR is completely unusable at the moment, even with removing and re-adding the HDHomerun several times and trying to use several different guides offered for my postcode, all come back with the main channels as $channel Programming.
I’d be happy to work around this by using an http://www.xmltv.co.uk feed, but Plex seems incapable of parsing that into a sensible channel list.
https://forums.plex.tv/u/sa2000. I’ve also tried a manual guide refresh and the issue is still there BUT this looks like it is a programming issue rather than an EPG schedule data issue.
BBC1 shows ‘BBC 1 Programming’ for the next 9hr 2 min on the guide
However, I have successfully scheduled ‘Escape to the Country’ which is on BBC1 today from 14:30-15:30
The only conclusion I can draw from this is that the schedule data is there, but is being incorrectly displayed in the guide i.e. a change to Plex such as the recent altered Home page is the culprit rather than poor EPG data from TIVO.
Does anyone want to be a tester for an xmltv file import for Freeview UK?
PM me if you would like to try … (I’m not in UK so can’t test myself).
I am now having this same problem which is resulting in some future recordings no longer showing up, as others I paid for a lifetime pass for the DVR function PLEASE sort this out.
PM sent!
Exactly the same here. The problem surfaced a couple of ‘software updates’ ago and is getting worse. Reverting to an earlier software version does not seem to make it better which leads me to think that there are some deep settings which do not get reset with software downgrades.
Plex, we are paying for our passes, is it too much to expect you guys to provide us with a fix for this problem, or even an acknowledgement that you are working on it.
