I’m having the worst luck with the DVR working. Today I had “Dr Oz” set. It says it recorded, but it’s no where to be found. It’s missed recording this show 4 times last week as well. I set it to record all NEW and REPEAT. I was hoping to make the switch, but so far this isn’t working as advertised. I’m using a HDHomeRun Extend with an iMac as the server. I finally told my iMac to stay ON all the time, because I think that is why it was missing recordings.
Did you set a deletion policy when setting up the recording? Shows in my EPG show they are repeats aired 4 months ago so if you set a policy of after 30 days they would all be deleted immediately after recording since the Original Air Date is used to determine when to delete.

It did not record again today. Argh! It says it recorded but nothing is there. I don’t have it set to delete expired entries or anything. Things marked as NEW are recording fine. Just having trouble with Dr Oz for some reason.
Ok, I went in and this is what it showed for the series recording.
Then I created a dummy file
and then it showed this
So I modified never to delete and deleted the dummy file. I’ll see what it does tomorrow.

I think I’m having the same problem but with The Ellen DeGeneres Show and a couple of the late night shows. The first thing I did when I set up the PMS on my shield was start the DVR and set recordings for those shows. When I set the recordings, I set them to 'Keep Episodes from the Past 30 Days". Now Plex says the show has recorded for the past two days straight but the recordings are nowhere.
I’m trying to create a dummy file but it isn’t recognized by Plex. I tried deleting the DVR and setting it up again, but the settings aren’t wiped. Is there a way to reset everything?
Edit: I did some more searching in another thread similar to this and found that the dummy file can’t just be a renamed .txt file so I used another recording and renamed it. That worked and I was finally able to change the settings for the three shows I had set to expire.
Plex really needs to fix this issue! What we did to fix this would be out-of-the-question to non-nerds!!
