DVR/LiveTV misery

Well - it’s time to leave PLEX now. The DVR/LiveTV feature is still useless here in Denmark as there is no way to get one combined EPG that actually covers my channels and contains actual useful information. On top of that you cannot schedule recordings manually or View LiveTV from a Channel if there is no EPG to associate with it.
This is a multiyear problem, and plex does not care, they are busy providing another - not working - feature, so I’m leaving now. This is a never ending Alpha test of software.

Yes, 2.5 years for me so far and all the basic obvious problems that were there when I started are still there now except for one minor correction that took over two years to fix: For the longest time, Plex insisted that Prime time started at 5:00. After two years, they finally acknowledge that prime time starts at 8:00.

But they still keep the 2nd week of the Guide a secret from us - You can only select the first 7 days in the guide grid even though many places get 2 weeks of epg data.

Extremely limited options for recording. A series can only have one rule. God forbid if you want to record a show on two different channels because of potentially poor reception.

Still no way to record by start time, channel and duration. This is critical when the EPG data is incorrect.

Many people continue to have huge problems trying to watch live tv or, god forbid, a recording that is still in progress – cause, hey, no one is ever late for the start of a live program.

For years, Plex just doesn’t seem to get that the purpose of DVR is to record the tv programs that we want so that we can watch them later. Either we can’t get the recordings to schedule properly or the playback is constantly glitchy, especially on Android/Fire devices.

I’ve started using another similar product and the experience is so much better. When I would go to my living room to watch something with Plex, my thought was always “How’s it not going to work today?” With the new product, it just works. It’s a non-issue.

I really want Plex to work properly. There are features I would like that my current (free) alternative doesn’t have. But Plex is so unreliable. So for now, I am mostly using something else because it’s dependable.
