DVR not recording full episodes

I am having the same issue. Everything used to work great. After recent Plex updates, I get a lot of partial episodes. In my case, this also corresponded to when I moved to a new house, so lots of variables as to why this has started happening.

My latest theory is that this has to do with running on hardware that doesn’t officially support hardware accelerated transcoding somehow breaking due to recent Plex updates. Gary, what is your CPU and GPU?

I am running on an Intel Xeon E5-1620 v4 CPU which does not support Intel Quick Sync Video, and my GPU is an AMD FirePro W4100. Neither of these meet Plex’s requirements for hardware accelerated streaming on Windows 10.

In attempting to completely delete and recreate the DVR, I ended up breaking the main database and had to completely wipe and reinstall PMS from scratch. This fixed one issue had (one of my tuners not finding a few specific stations that I know all come from the same transmitter while the other tuner found them with no problem) it did NOT correct the issue with the DVR not recording full episodes with any version of PMS after 1.29. I tried updating to the latest version again today, same issue. Reverting to 1.29 seems to fix the problem. This is really getting frustrating considering this is a feature you CAN’T EVEN USE without paying for a Plex Pass, so I expect to get some actual support from Plex but no one who actually works for Plex has even bothered to reply to this topic AT ALL!

I’m having the same issue with incomplete recordings. Tried recording an NFL game on FOX last weekend and it recorded 22 minutes. Been having this issue for months now with no changes at all other than Windows updates (on Windows 10) and Plex server updates. Wanted to reply here so this thread doesn’t close.
