No, all of my failures occurred in the morning when I was doing testing, I haven’t done any testing in the evening. This time stamp is 20:17, which is 8 PM. Definitely not doing any testing at that time.
Do you have a timestamp or two from when a failure occurred?
The last time I tested would have been Sep 1, sometime between 9 AM and noon, that’s the best I can narrow it down.
Hi @pl_5309 , any other thoughts? Thanks!
If there was a version that worked more reliably, drop back to that. The latest public and beta have not been stable for me so I dropped back to 1.32.1.6999.
A Plex member is looking at dropouts in another thread. Your best chance would be to start a new thread and include debug logs with time and channel of occurrence.
Tried it again today, installed the latest version (1.32.7.7571) of PMS and set a few shows to record. First shows recorded fine, second set of shows all cut off at two minutes. This was at 11:00 AM and 11:30 AM respectively (local time). Logs attached.
I found this in your logs:
DEBUG - Jobs: 'C:\Program Files\Plex\Plex Media Server\Plex Transcoder.exe' exit code for process 8184 is 1 (failure)
That led me to this page in Plex:
Try following this and see if that will fix your problem. If not, we’ll try again.
Well, since I’m not running Malwarebytes on this server this doesn’t really apply.
Have you tried not transcoding while you’re recording? Or removing the DVR and then add it back again?
I have removed the DVR and re-added a few times. How do I turn off transcoding while recording?
Go into your Live TV & DVR tab in your settings page. Click on the gear icon under Channel Sources. Make sure Convert Video While Recording dropdown menu is off.

OK, that was already off on both my tuners.

Seems to be something up with your transcoding. Maybe the folder it is writing to is full or there are permission issues. I don’t use windows specifically so I don’t know how you would look into how to fix that exactly.
I can assure you there are no permissions issues with that folder. I do use Windows and I am an IT person, so I can say that with some confidence.
I still don’t understand why I don’t have this problem with the older version of PMS, but it happens any time I update to a newer version. And I really wish someone from Plex could at least look at this and try to figure it out.
To present a better case try removing the WinTV 885 from your configuration since it isn’t on the supported list.
The tuner I’m using is a Hauppage WinTV Quad PCIe card, which is on the supported list. I bought it specifically because it’s on the supported list.
Please review the “Plex Tuner Service.log” because there something not quite right there.
Could you be a little more specific? I am unfamiliar with interpreting Plex logs.
Tried updating again today, same issue with the new version 1.32.7.7621. Ran into the same issue, one episode records fine, then the next episodes record only 2-3 minutes. Adding newest logs. Issues occurred between 10 and 11 AM this morning.
