I’ve been playing around with Plex DVR and Live TV for the past couple of weeks. I have a couple of shows set to record reruns and new episodes and to automatically delete recordings after 30 days. Is Plex using the original air date as the benchmark or the recording date as the benchmark? I’ve notice that some shows (always reruns) delete almost immediately instead of waiting for 30 days to pass. If it is the original air date, I would suggest that the record date is functionally a better benchmark to use. If the benchmark is already the record date, then there is definitely a bug somewhere.
Yes Plex uses original air date to determine after 30 days. You can use the delete episode a week after watching in the library settings. Never tried this setting personally, I keep all episodes and manually delete what I no longer want.
Yeah this should be the record date… took me way too long to figure out why my ‘sucessfully recorded’ shows were nowhere to be found
