I’m seeing a number of recording of the series that I have placed at the highest recording priority being skipped because other programs were recording at the same time.
For example I had two recordings underway (and completed successfully):
- a film, “Braven” (low priority), 23:35 - 01:25
- a show, “Red Dwarf” (low priority) 00:35 - 01:10
An episode of “Dexter”, which I have literally given the first position in the priority list, was scheduled for 01:04 - 02:16 and was not recorded, with Plex reporting “The recording was not started because airing was in progress”.
Note that I do not allow partial recordings, so this message is, on the face of it, acceptable. However, given that Dexter should have priority over every other recording, there is no way that Red Dwarf should have been allowed to record and thereby stop Dexter from recording.
I’ve seen a lot of this recently, as I’m having to rebuild my collection of recording after an unfortunate case of idiocy which wiped it out entirely. My server is therefore scheduling a lot of recordings, near constantly for about 12 hours over the afternoon and evening. At the moment, I can see five recordings of NCIS (2003) which are showing as conflicting with other recordings, even though NCIS is the second highest priority in my queue, which should surely mean that it should be recording instead of those programs which actually are being recorded.
