I set Morning Joe to record every morning and it will work for a week and then break. The next week I will see either recording failed, or it will only start recording an hour and 30 minutes into the already running show.
The EPG is always intact for this show, and I can view it even when it fails to record. So its not like the channel or the info went dark and plex got lost. It just isnt doing it.
Not at all when I look back. The program again Monday and I will look. But I keep getting random amounts of recording. One time it was 15 minutes of this 3 hour show, and other times its a single hour of the program. Again the channel doesn’t vanish ever, its always viewable without issue, and the EPG is always on point. But Plex just can’t find it randomly and im not sure why.
The xteve logs will also be helpful. I’ve run xteve in the past and found that xteve needed to be restarted. My setup was xteve and plex both in docker containers with plex pointing to the xteve IP address and port (34400). It seemed like the connection between xteve and plex would periodically drop out with no retry/recovery mechanism. Even though both xteve & plex containers were active, the connection would get into a degraded state with restart of the xteve container as the only workable option.
The reliability isn’t great with xteve and plex in combination, so I’ve back-burnered this. When it works, it’s fantastic, but it’s almost like it needs daily coddling to stay afloat.
