DVR scheduling issues (for ABC World News Tonight)

Hi,

I record “ABC World News Tonight With David Muir” on a daily basis. I have two issues:

  1. ABC broadcasts this program at both the usual 6:30PM as well as at 2:07AM the following early morning. I want to record only the 6:30PM broadcast.
    When I set up the recording for this show without any restrictions on channel or airing time, Plex sets a recording for both broadcasts (6:30PM and 2:07AM) as expected.
    However, if I restrict the airing time to 6:30PM (without making any other changes), both recordings disappear and Plex indicates that there are no upcoming airings of this show. So either I have to record both airings of each show or neither…

  2. For some reason, there are two separate listings on the EPG for this show. One is for broadcasts running on Sunday-Friday. There is a second listing for the same show for broadcasts on Saturday alone (and that too only for the nearest Saturday even though the DVR schedule for other shows is updated for 2 weeks at a time). Why?

Interesting, I have the exact same issue, but with my 10pm local news. Also on the ABC affiliate and I record ABC World News as well, however we don’t have the repeat broadcasting of it, instead my local ABC station re-broadcasts their 10pm local news at 1am and I have the exact same issue. I would like to record the 10pm local news live at 10:00pm. When I schedule the recording, it also schedules the repeat at 1am. When I go into the Recording Series settings and set the timeframe, the only option listed is the 10pm airing, if I select that, neither 10pm or 1am airings are scheduled for recording.

I’ll check again to see if there’s a specific unique listing on different days like you are experiencing. However I believe ABC World News does have a separate broadcast (at least in their books) for Saturday as it’s a different timeslot. I could be wrong though.

Hope this helps, this is very frustrating on my end for my local news recordings and looks like a bug, I feel like I should at least see the 1am airing in the timeframe setting and if I select 10pm only, it shouldn’t clear all recordings out.
