Japan uses ISDB and not DVB for digital TV. Plex says it has EPG data for Japan, so I would hope there would be a tuner to use it. Does anyone know of a Plex compatible tuner I can buy?
Any other suggestions on getting this to work would be greatly appreciated.

In theory (altho we havent tested this) but if you use a ISDB HDHomeRun it might ‘just work’. I see we have guide data for Japan and Brazil (the two main ISDB countries I think) so let us know if you’re able to get this working.

Any idea where I might be able to get one of those? Amazon JP doesn’t seem to list them, nor does Amazon US. The SiliconDust website is empty when I look at it (I presume it detects that I am in Japan and finds no distributors). Ebay lists none under “hdhomerun isdb”.
Any help on where to get one would be enormously appreciated.
I know SD sells a HDHomeRun for Brazil markets, which have unecrypted ISDB-T, but I am not sure about Japan, if they have unecrypted ISDB-T, if it will work, etc. Might be worth posting to their forums and asking? I bet someone has tried it.
Japan signals are encrypted using B-CAS. You’ll have to have a B-CAS card reader as well.
