I setup the DVR to record all the episodes of the Olympics. It won’t record the episodes later than 11:00 PM. I normally use a Nvidia shield as the server. I tried canceling all the recordings and just selecting a late one and it showed up in the schedule as 5:00 - 8:30 PM recording.
I have tried using my iMac as the DVR recording server and it did the same thing. The guide seems to be correct, but the schedule does not show the recordings.
The overnight airing is just the primetime coverage being shown again:
The only difference I’ve seen between the airings has to do with the commercials shown (quantity).
Are you attempting to record both? If so, the Plex DVR will attempt to outsmart you there; it won’t allow two recordings of the same “episode” to be recorded.
I told it to record old and repeat episodes so I thought it would even if they were the same. I started trying to do that because I was definitely missing some of the segments and I couldn’t figure out why.
The “New and Repeat Airings” option only controls whether or not the DVR will record items not marked as “New” in the schedule. It will never re-record an item it thinks is already in your library (unless you’ve configured it replace lower resolution items).
The overnight airings, at least in my market, are just the same content as the primetime; they show a greater number of commercials (or rarely, fewer), but the actual content is the same.
