More DVR Recording Woes

Server Version#: 1.27.2.5929
Player Version#:
Tuner Make/Model: TBS 6281 DVBT/T2
Guide/Lineup name: Freeview (138 channels)
Using XMLTV?:
Channel number/Name: 026 ITV4

I have been trying to set my DVR to record the Tour De France on ITV4 (Freeview CH26)
I schedule both the 7PM highlights which are then repeated at 11 or 12 the following day. to record and in the guide you can see the red button informing that it is a scheduled recording.
I use the HTPC client to access the server and it works perfectly when I connect to Channel 26 and watch Live TV
However… the bugger just wont record anything…

At the time it should be recording there is no ‘Activity’ on the server and no recorded files in the directory.
I tried deleting the DVR, EPG etc and trying again, which didnt work.
I then completely deleted and reinstalled the Plex server from scratch and set everything up again, but same problem.

I must be missing something; any idea’s folks?

3 dots only indicate that you have a match with a scheduled recording. Highlights usually aren’t marked NEW and if the program was first shown on a channel other than what you receive, will also be considered repeat. So it looks like you have it set to only record NEW.

You would have to setup a one time recording for each of the episodes or set NEW and Repeat. Problem with that is sometimes the repeats are edited so only the first repeat is recorded.

Some other issues, you are double/triple NAT’d because of CGNAT coupled with what looks like a DNS rebinding protection.

Thanks @pl_5309 that resolved the mystery and my recordings are now as scheduled.

Re: The NAT’ing issue… yes it is a strange one. I use standard NAT on my home network, but my ISP routes via a transparent proxy . I also use OpenDNS for web security so there are some odd things going on… I’m hoping a fixed IP address at my end will resolve it

For the OpenDNS, you should add the plex.direct to the never block list at the bottom of the web and content filtering page. That should fix the dns look up failures for plex.
