Every Friday night a new airing of a show called ‘Almanac’ is set to record. The show repeats on this channel and other PBS channels over the next few days. When it repeats it is recorded again. The first new airing does not show in the guide as new, so setting to only record new episodes does not work.
I want to record this show each Friday at 7:00 pm CST but not record the reruns of the episode. Is there a work around to accomplish this task? Thank you in advance.
In the recording’s advanced scheduling options, are you able to limit the channel to 2.1 and airing time to 7 PM to resolve the issue?
The guide doesn’t have season/episode information for anything other than the Friday 7PM airing. This might be the cause of the duplicate recording (it can’t identify that it’s the same episode).
(Ignore these airing times, they’re off by an hour. I set up a test DVR with what I suspect is your ZIP, or at least close, so I could see the guide data.)
