It’s been awhile since I checked on this (I thought it was fixed honestly, but it was just my HDHomerun DVR recording it)
I have all of the 1985 MacGyver present in my library.
I have the 2016 MacGyver set to record on my DVR.
The 2016 version of the show is showing the correct poster and information (a change for how it was showing the 1985 poster before)
The Plex DVR refuses to record the 2016 version of the show as it doesn’t see it as a “new” episode because MacGyver s0xe0x is already in my library - it does not seem to look at the year of the show when deciding what to record.
If I remove a 1985 episode that matches the same s0xe0x format of the 2016 show it records the 2016 episode without a problem.
Is this still a Gracenote issue or is this an issue with how the DVR is determining what is present in the library?
How does the show appear when you search the program guide? For me the show appears to be displaying correctly for my area as shown in the image below.
However for my area Hawaii Five-O (2010) is mixed in with the original 1968 series.
The shows being mixed in together is a Gracenote issue and should be reported using the link on the Reporting Gracenote EPG Data Issues thread.
@johnm_ColaSC My guide data is correct - so I don’t think it is a grace note issue.
@cayars thanks for the knowledge it is being looked at and worked on. Once the shows are in library there is no problem with them. On my part it seems to be the scheduler itself is only looking at the show name, season and episode data not an associated year if there is one
