I know it is not part of Plex’s scope of service but hear me out. Right now I can log in from anywhere and see my hosting IP address because Plex has updated it already. Now, I have a domain name that I would like to use to remote into my Plex server to update my server. If Plex server would add this service so we don’t have to find out what our IP is to remote you already know your domain just use it to remote to your server and do your maintenance. Now people who don’t use Plex for anything will start using Plex server just so they can have their dynamic IP update there domain.
There is no need for that. All you need to do is to open https://app.plex.tv and login (if you’re not already logged in)
And even that is only necessary when using the web app. Which should be only the last resort, IMHO.
All the other plex apps simply require that you open/start them. They will look up the current IP of your server automatically and just present you with all the media that you have access to.
If you ansolutely must use your own domain, you can already do that.
