Infuse has had Dolby Atmos support with no hiccups on the Apple TV for a year now. No progress nor outright acknowledgement by Plex that this should be supported natively (and not some kind of vague “actively investigated”) on tvOS Plex app. While I certainly understand that there are priorities and processes that things have to go through, getting proper support of audio standards in movie playback sure should take priority over such silliness as “Color Themes”.

Any news on this? Honestly the number of native features from iOS/tvOS/iPadOS that Plex doesnt‘t support and the general problems with playback at this time is outrageous.

I would love to be able to use some Atmos content on my new Sonos Arc.

I don’t want to buy a Shield Pro.

Come on, Plex…the Apple TV is the device that should have the best experience!

Honestly, i give up. I just don’t care anymore, as apparently the plex team also doesn’t. As long as HDR and Atmos isn‘t fixed and an implementation of Spatial Audio and (proper) Airplay is done, which probably will never happen, im done using Plex as a client. It‘s just too annoying and i just want to watch my stuff and don‘t want to tinker all time…sorry for the rant and may you all have more patience than i do :sweat_smile:

Oh well, just bought a HT-A9 and lost half a day twice testing ATMOS demos over and over without success only to find out that it will work but with old (legacy) player. Then once switched I found out that 7.1 LPCM was gone and system was only showing 5.1 LPCM until I switched back to recent player.

So it’s been a year that the problem was reported and the new player still have not been improved to also support ATMOS?

Is there a list somewhere listing the TODO, what’s planned and such? Just curious when I should be good to enjoy my new audio setup by setting Plex to use the latest player and forget about ATMOS issues.

Just saw the news about a new logo is coming, I hope we won’t see the new logo pushed without an improved player with ATMOS issues fixed.

This should be a priority in this day and age. even as an extra feature come on PLEX get you game together.

C’mon Plex Team. How come this issue has been open for far too long? Infuse has had this working for over a year now!

I love the Plex experience of the Apple TV, and yes “Discover” is an amazing new addition, but I’d much rather enjoy my lovely sound system to its full potential.

So, any news or updates on when this issue might finally be resolved?

Yeah it is unbelievable, especially so many users are complaining about it. I know not every Atmos profile is supported by Apple, but at least support those profiles which are supported.
