I have been having issues with EAC3 5.1 audio for a while now. A couple times its stopped working on my Mac running the plex Mac app then functionality has returned. A couple months back it stopped working on my Mac app. any video with EAC3 5.1 audio stopped playing audio but video played fine. an easy work around was to use the web player. Another work around was to watch on my Apple TV. Then EAC3 stopped playing on my Apple TV too. about this time I noticed it was only on newly added content. I could also transcode to a different quality instead of direct stream. Today it started happening on web player too.
Considering it seems to happen on new content I’m guessing its a DB problem.
-Mac is an 2020 M1 MacBook Pro connected through wifi (happened on 2017 intel MacBook Pro too running various versions of MacOS on both)
-Apple TV 4K connected by ethernet then HDMI to LG 4k TV, playing through tv speakers
-PMS is running on an Apple Xserve with dual 2.33 quad core Xeons 32GB ram and running macOS Mojave connected by ethernet
-got an error and couldn’t download logs
