EAE problems resulting in i/o error - unable to play any videos

Server Version#: Version 1.22.1.4228

Ok, I have scoured the forums for this problem and I keep seeing things like modifying inotify and increasing the number, and none of that has made a difference.
I have recently started seeing this error hundreds of times and am unable to play most TV shows now.
It is not a permissions problem - I checked. Even redid them to inherit Plex as owner on all subfolders, it is owned by plex.
I even did this to my sysctl.conf file:
echo fs.inotify.max_user_watches=65536 >> /etc/sysctl.conf
sysctl -p
cat’d it and it shows up in there. Rebooted. No joy.
I’m ready to delete the entire thing and start over…something I REALLY don’t want to do, since I’ve had my library for YEARS.

It does not work on any device (roku, android app, web, etc.). When I play any show, it throws a ton of errors like this one.

It just hangs and spins infinitely. Suggestions?
This is running on a Synology DS1821+ with 32GB RAM and 40TB of space with two 1TB SSD cache. I have downloaded the logs.

@trumpy81 any ideas?

I’m getting very similar problems. It also looks like EasyAudioEncoder didn’t have the execute bit on my system, but adding it doesn’t solve the problem.

Tell me how to get what you need and i will do my best to get it to you!
It seems to not happen at home anymore; however, now it happens quite frequently on my android devices. does this information help?
basically what happens is that the videos all try to auto-transcode based on (I guess?) what the cellular speed is, and it never worked right for me. The plex app on my android would spin and spin.
so I wound up disabling that feature on the client side (and in the web-UI from my mobile device of course), saying to play original quality and do not transcode down or anything. for a time, things were fine. (unless you actually lost signal - which does happen) anyway, now what happens is that seemingly arbitrary media playbacks keep failing silently. [I believe I might even have a ticket open for that issue also, FYI.]

But, as a fellow tech (though definitely not of your caliber!), I know that this answer is the one that you hate to hear - I cannot replicate it right now. I tried to do it and it wants to work fine. Which makes me irritated because it really IS a bug that I would LOVE to see get fixed. I love this company. I’d donate again just to see it fixed!! Thank you all for what you do.

It never hurts when you go to the Dr’s office
