Hi community,

struggling with the “EAE timeout! EAE not running” error for a while now and it seems my Plex server is stuck in the loop.
Files for troubleshooting attached.

Anyone can point me in the right direction what I configured wrong? I dont want to touch my files or folders as they are correctly tagged by the way.

You probably want to disable this settings (Settings → Library), then restart your server. Music won’t automatically get scanned in but you can just use the periodic scan to pick these up.

The issue is that your system inodes are exhausted which is preventing other things from working properly.

Thanks for the hint with the settings part.

In regards to the system inodes - Does that mean I just have too many files to handle in my library? And is there any way to resolve this?

@BenGradish

The error you’re seeing is common on Syno.

Here’s how to adjust

In most cases, no other changes are required. You won’t need to disable anything.

Thanks guys! I did apply the changes now. No loop this morning with 3 new series episodes added.

Two questions:

  1. Is there any way to check if my intro/outro markers have been successfully applied?
  2. Is there a way to still automate my Music folder to be scanned, maybe on a less frequent schedule than the rest of my library?

@BenGradish

I get the impression your music library is very large ?

If it takes your machine a really long time to get Music done, there is a “hack” technique which has been used in the past. It is dependent on how you’ve got the music organized.

The situations I’m referencing is where the media was physically organized into Genre subfolders first with Artist/Album structure under each after that.

What we did was to add each Genre into the library, one at a time, and let PMS do it’s work.

When that work was completed, Edit the library section and add the next genre directory to the library section list.

PMS will then scan and do its work for the new genre subdirectories.

It’s a bit awkward and takes manual effort but it did get the libraries into PMS relatively quickly and completely (no misses).

Hi ChuckPa,

I call it big but not large :wink: . Scanning the whole library isnt the problem though (Usually takes a few minutes to run through if I trigger it automatically). Problem is now, that I followed drzoidberg33 advices to uncheck “include music libraries in automatic updates”, I was looking for is something like a scheduler to have it run only on the Music folder in a regular way, like once a day.

Now that you have adjusted the inotify table and all is well, you should be able to re-enable Include Music Libraries… without any issues.

Let us know how it goes please.
