Editing ArticleStrings in Plex Web on a Synology NAS

Hello,

I own a Synology NAS D420+, I have installed Plex on it and use it through the web interface and the Android app (i.e. no local Windows installation).

I would like to edit the ArticleStrings advanced setting item as I work in French and the default ignored articles for sorting titles do not match my needs.

My multiple Internet searches have not helped me to find how to edit them through Plex Web. All findings refer to OS, and a xml file to plant and edit, which cannot apply to a Synology NAS.
Or maybe I missed or got something wrong?

Many thanks in advance for your help and clarification.

Vincent

You cannot.

They are part of the hidden server settings.
https://support.plex.tv/articles/201105343-advanced-hidden-server-settings/
and thus can only be changed by editing the Preferences.xml file in the Plex data folder directly.

You need to get access to the Plex data folder first, which is also required for manually obtaining log files etc. You can therefore follow this article: Synology FAQ - Questions, Answers, and How-To's - #19 by ChuckPa

Thanks for your feedback.
Actually, I realized that I previously missed it and there actually is a preferences.xml file in the
/PlexMediaServer/AppData/Plex Media Server folder on the NAS, and I could edit it.
I think that could do the job. I will of course check with the next added files.
Thanks for the hint!
V.
