Short version- The Playlist should allow you to replace listed items/shows.
I use the playlist feature like a pseudo tv scheduler. I work with kids and I program their shows on a weekly basis. I have a playlist for each day of the week. After said week, I have to delete all of the content and start over. Same shows different episodes. I’ve been looking for a solution to make things easier, but I’ve had no luck. I noticed something that the playlist setting doesn’t have, a way to replace an item with another. Say for instance you pulled the wrong episode of a show. You’ll then have to delete the entry and then go back to library and re-add it to the playlist. If Plex allowed you to simply replace the item with another it would make things a lot more efficient. More so if the item is from the same library, collection, show, or season. For example, when the week is up I can just replace “Power Rangers” episode 1 with episode 7 without having to delete the entry and re-adding it to the playlist.
