Server Version#: 1.16.6.1592 /-ish.
Player Version#: yeah, whatever the latest trash you gave us on fireTV/android.

now, the recent client player versions have some option for “override included subtitle styling” which one would hope means that the client can just scrape the text and not have to still transcode, but, no (HAVE YOU EVEN MET PLEX YET)

took me about half a minute to lunix-ify Cguy1234’s included Tautulli script (thank you again, brother, I cannot even begin to)

look, I am deeply grateful that there’s widely EIA_608 available. but FFS plex, how’sabout just building in some kind of stripper, transcoding remains one of the community’s biggest problems.

Cguy1234? you are a freaking saint.

Glad you enjoyed the script! I’ve found it works extremely well. Even for downloaded tv shows which often include the eia_608 subs. And on Android ( Nvidia shield tv) you can make the srt subs look like whatever you want… they look amazing with the override setting on.

Yeah, I usually delete EIA_608 subs too.

@Cguy1234 it is truly amazeballs, you’re right even matrioshkas with the eia_608 built into the mkv container, it still gets the jorb done.
