I asked this elsewhere, but with the forum restructuring, I am posting again.
I want a Plex box that basically handles or passes through any audio format to my audio receiver. Currently it seems the most compatible is the NVIDIA Shield. I would much prefer to make my own Plex Box with an Intel NUC and Plex Media Player (PMP) Embedded. There is an ongoing thread about the functionality of this particular format of PMP, that I have been following:
I wanted to ask a Plex support member, what is the update schedule for Plex Embedded?
When the next major release of LibreElec 9 (LE9) comes out, hopefully in the middle of this year:
LibreELEC 9.0.x includes Kodi 18.x (mid 2018)
Will PMP Embedded get updated with it?
The reason for the question is that users are hoping that that update, LE9, will bring about better audio bitstreaming/passthrough capabilities to that platform.
Why can’t I get an answer from a Plex Ninja or some type of moderator on this? I am a paying Plex Pass member with a question about future updates to software I AM PAYING FOR!
The least the Plex team could do is give an answer to this question.
You took away the Plex Pass forum, where we usually got prompt answers, and now you’re leaving paying members floating in the wind.
I would appreciate any information that could be shared by Plex on this subject as well. Currently maintain a frustrating Windows/Intel NUC machine, and really, really would like to get back to using embedded. Thank you!
