The plex arcade is not working with any emulators. Mac server. Current version of plex.
Please provide actual real examples ones you have tried (ROMs and Cores). how you have them named, folder structure etc.
No. I pay for this service. It’s Plex’s job to do the work. Otherwise why am I paying for a service?
OK you have given us zero info to go on. Milliions of folks use it without issue. If you choose to not tell us any information at all then zero people can help you.
It is your job to name and organize the supported roms/cores correctly. We cannot do that for you.
Again, you are incorrect. Millions of people may have tried to use plex arcade and canceled because it doesn’t work and plex has offered no solutions. Just search “plex arcade” on youtube and you’ll see everyone canceling.
Also, why does the customer need to supply emulators? Isn’t that what we are paying for? For $5/mo plex provides a handful of atari games from 40 years ago? We don’t need to supply the media player for movies. PLex needs to provide the emulators for gaming systems. Otherwise arcade is useless. If we are providing both the emulators and the games all you are really providing is a way to look at the album art. That is not worth $5/mo?
Again which ones don’t work. What of the many various Plex player are you using? If you don’t want to tell us then no one can help you.
Aside from the atari emulator and games that plex provides, nothing else works.
I already told you we are using a mac server.
I already told you we are running the most current version of plex media server.
None of the games we input work.
We provided the emulators (that plex should be providing) and it still doesn’t work.
I don’t know what more you want from me because if I knew what was wrong and how to fix it I wouldn’t need you.
What does that mean? they won’t load up a poster and be matched. you get a black screen, the controller/keyboard buttons do nothing. “Doesn’t work” does not give me anything to go on.
What games are those? Give us one example. On what platforms are they based? What core(s) are you using? Where did you get cores? If you are trying to load PS4 games for example they will never work.

Every platform except the native atari plex provides. games won’t load. Used the emulators from the tutorial video via the “core manager” app.
are your media files zipped? you need to unzip files so they can be played by a lot of the cores. You dont pay for this as it is a labs product so not covered by your plex pass so try being a bit nicer to the staff, its more likely to get your problem resolved.
Can you screenshot your cores? try turning on verbose logging and then launching some games then posting your log files here. The log files should give a better idea of what is going on. What processor is in the “Mac Server”? what Graphics card are you using? Are you sure that it’s supported by Parsec? Try and work with one single emulator and get that working.
Works fine on mine.
Windows Server 2019
GTX 1050ti 4GB OC
Plex Version 1.23.0.4497
NESE Core: FCEUmm
According to plex the files do not need to be unzipped.
Arcade is an additional fee to plex pass. But arcade doesn’t work unless I use third party software and troubleshoot it myself. So I don’t understand why arcade has a fee if plex isn’t providing the software or support that will make it work. If i have to provide the games, emulators and cores, there is no need for plex at that point. They are even relying on you to answer my questions. I’d rather just pay you than plex.
It’s a 2011 mac mini being used as a server. Idk the processor.
Reason i asked about the processor is that not all processors were supported so i believe Mac support was pretty limited. Also you may have an unsupported graphics card in there.
Parsec is simply doing the streaming side of things and its the Parsec licence you are paying as Plex have to use a corporate licence to use in their software so that they get developer support. Parsec itself is actually free for end users but there is no real support for it other than forums. IT’s the price you pay for being part of the Beta Labs project. In the future they will probably have a different licencing model for us but for now it’s what it is.
Tried un zipping and still have the same issue.
I checked processor. 2.5ghz Intel i5.
Plex does not have support either. They offer forums where people like yourself can try to troubleshoot issues with other users instead of plex just offering support themselves. That’s why I never paid for a plex pass before. And if arcade doesn’t get working for me by the end of my billing cycle I’ll be canceling both arcade & pass.
Trying to figure out where the video is. Can’t find where is says not to uzip cores but if you were using the core manager yeah that should afaik should have installed them for you.
If you would not mind grabbing the server logs it may help us fine out what issue you are having
The link said to go to settings>manage>troubleshoot. There is no “manage” option under settings.
also, do this just after trying to play a game so the transcoder errors will be the latest events in the logs
