This and the fact that I can’t sync a playlist is making the plex music feature very unusable for me. I don’t understand why this is available on my windows phone but not android. Also would be nice if I could set from the server a limit on the quality streamed outside my network. That way I only get flac when at my house.
+1 i would like this as well! I practically only download my music in lossless formats.
I second the motion.

Playlist sync has been available for weeks now.
Please add this feature asap. Don’t want to blow my data plan while streaming lossless audio on the move.
I played around with an iPad last night and noticed iOS app has that option already.
Just adding my vote here. I got a plex pass this month to see how far plex has come for serving music, but unfortunately I don’t feel like it’s very usable still. I would like the option to encode to opus, preferably, but mp3 v2 would be great as well. As it is now, music over plex is pretty unusable over mobile data.
Wish I could like this more than once.
We’ll get there eventually!
Please add this! I love flac for my Sonos but the lack of a transcode option for music is killing my data. Also this feature is already on iOS!
This feature is also built into the Windows 10 app!!

+1
This feature is absolutely essential and needed on the macOS and Android apps.
+1 need this feature for android/ios app please!
Please add this feature. I find it odd that we can sync movies in original quality but not music.
Just found this setting in iOS Plex app. Settings → Advanced → Remote Audio Quality. Mine was defaulted to 192kbps.
Both I and a friend also want this feature. The fact that this is implemented in other apps but not the Android one seems like a gross oversight. Please add it, it would be greatly appreciated.
Please implement this in the Android app. This is needed to reduce data use. ![]()

Should be really useful ![]()
Thx
This should be easy to add since its already supported in the iOS app and thus at the protocol level. +1 would appreciate.
+1!
My data plan costs are eating me up!
