Enable Plex client on my Nvidia Shield

I have a Plex server I’ve been running on a PC for a while now. I was hoping I could use the Nvidia Shield as a Plex client, NOT A PLEX SERVER. However no matter what I do I cannot connect to my Plex PC server. Here is what I’m doing…

  1. Start the Plex Client app on the Nvidia Shield (starts fine)
  2. Click Sign In (I enter the 4 digit pin and it signs in fine)

After this I’m greeted with this screen…

I uncheck Enable Plex Media Server and click next and…

Nothing. I’m taken to a setup screen that has three icons on it. The three icons are for

  1. Server,
  2. Sign In
  3. Settings.

If I click on the server icon I can see the PC running my Plex server is found and has a green padlock icon by it. The sign in icon has my username and it says I’m signed in. The settings has a lot of icons for setting video streaming options etc. etc. but nothing I clicked on here actually allows me to see ANY media on my Plex server PC. What am I doing wrong?

I would going into your Shield settings under “apps” and force stop and then disable the Plex Server app completely and try again.
