End of TV Episodes get chopped Up as of 1.13?

I have noticed since 1.13 that the end of any show we watch starts “buffering” for the last minute or so making it unwatchable until the end. Is this something the dev team is aware of? Anyone else experiencing this now?

does anyone from Plex visit the beta forums… I mean, shouldn’t they be actually paying attention to the people beta testing?

Same problem here. I found that fiddling with the quality would let me finish the episodes. Basically turning it down one or two steps

If you turn off “adjust automatically” under video settings the problem goes away.

I can confirm the problem is still there even in the latest beta (1.18) which has had the Direct Play option put back in.

UPDATE

I have tested a pre-release beta build that Elan posted to see if it fixes the issue and I’m happy to say it’s finally fixed. So it should make it to public release soon.

Good to know, I have moved over to using Infuse as my front end do to codec support, but nice to see they finally took a look at this.

not fixed for me… works fine on IOS and Web Plex but TVOS 1.18 gets choppy at end of Video…

For me, it’s at about 2 minutes remaining. This seems similar to a previous bug where the tvOS app showed all play times as 2 hours until the playback only had 2 minutes remaining. Then the video would blip and the correct time would show.

I’m having the same issue.

Turn off “auto adjust quality” in global settings, this was happening to me all the time, after turning that off it hasn’t happened again.

I turned off hardware acceleration, now shows play to the end instead of crashing,

but they still play choppy…

You are correct i thought it was the hardware acceleration setting, but that didn’t fix it fully… just tried Turning off “auto adjust quality” in plex app settings… now problem is gone… thanks Olafurns…

Plex team take note this is a confirmed bug…

I had two issues with the beta version :

  • as described here, end of show would stutter
  • Low definition videos had a terrible appearance compared to normal version

Both were solved by turning off “auto adjust quality” in plex app settings.

This is definitely a bug of that functionality
