We can already click on "Select items", tick the check box on several items, and then do a little bit of editing (refresh, analyze, add to collection, mark as watched, mark as unwatched) but it would be nice if we could edit the metadata on the selected items as well. I just imported 2 collections of 60 titles each and the content rating, genre and collections metadata is wrong on all of them. It appears I need to go through and edit all 120 titles one by one if I want them to be correct. I would suggest that the simplest implementation is the best one: if you edit metadata in a group edit action, then all of the items in that group are updated with the new metadata for the pieces that were changed. In other words, you don't need to worry about merging existing data or anything like that--just overwrite. Note, however, that you would only want to overwrite the parts that were changed. If I update 60 items and I change just the Content rating, the Genre and the collections data, then I would only want those 3 pieces of metadata updated; I would NOT want the title, studio, summary, etc. to be affected.
