Plex says what with the transcoding server is not true ā€¦ at the mutant 2400hd it should not lie the packs streaming on PC also!

Openvix 5 runs API but Plex keeps losing communication. All on wired gb lan.

Any thoughts, maybe me being a muppet as usualā€¦

Unfortunately this only works for me with FTA HD channels as they are sent from my Zgemma S2S as (AVC/AC-3) which Plex handles well but any SD or premium channels fail to transcode as they are MPEG/MP2 streams and Plex still has a bug whereby it is unable to transcode MPEG/MP2 streams.

Can I confirm that this is only an issue with the Zgemma boxes. Iā€™d be surprised as itā€™s the stream that matters and the box just passes the stream on without any transcoding. Is it perhaps just an issue with satellite SD and premium channels?

To be clear, this is not an issue with the plugin. The plugin works as it should. This is a bug in Plex. Itā€™s the same bug which affects the Dreambox plugin 0.1.

I get the same transcoding issues, I use an Ultimo4K.
I use a shield as client, and I get a message on there saying mp2 not allowed in mkv, and then transcodes it, playback seems to be fine though.> @jonfear61 said:

Hi,

I had to remove my link to Solo4K, when re-adding i can only select cable and not Satellite. It allow satellite initially, has any thing change.

do you have cable tuner in box also ?, there is a bug in plex where it will only see 1 device on a single IP, and as cable is the 1st port it will only see this for auto detection. so if you have 2 tuners 1 cable and 1 sat, and you want to use sat for plex, you will need to add it to plex manually using the correct port 6083. to work around this issue you could after you save the files using plugin delete any files in /www/cable/ and restart e2, then try adding to plex.

I did notice during development of another app that, with the DVR functionality, Plex does cache certain data about the connection. Not sure how to clear that down and start again.

I have DVB-S and DVB-T, I have added both manually DVB-T is fine, for DVB-S i can only select cable, but the first time i did setup i could select Satellite, will take a look at the /www/cable

restart your PMS, I have seen this on the odd occasion.

I run Plex as a docker on unraid and had the same issue, but has to restart unraid to clear it, restart of Plex Server did not resolve.

as plex does not officially support sat you have to tell plex it is cable, but it does not matter, you should still see FreeSat etc, just use the first part of post code (if in the UK).

you wonā€™t see /www/cable if you donā€™t have a tuner.

also, at this time plex does NOT support multiple types of EPG, so you can only add one, I tried manually adding a 2nd DVR (not device).but it was not reliable as the recordings would record from the wrong tuners.

So it is not possible to add a box with a cable and sat tuner? I would like to use both tuners in plex. Is there no workaround for that?

And does the transcoding of SD and Premium channels work for other boxes? I read FidoFuz got Problem with his zgemma box. Or do you guys just use the transcoding port from your Box in order to make it work? Or can i just use the standart streming port 8001 and plex will do the transcoding?

Is this Plugin working for VTI Images? Or do they also need to patch?

PM @rossi2000, he might be able help you create a ā€˜CUSTUMā€™ mix channel lineup, he does that, but for using Sky And Virgin Guides no, not possible Plex DVR need a lot more work, although my plugin is ready when it does :slight_smile:

Plex can not utilise the transcoder on board the STB, maybe in future but atm no.

It doesnā€™t require Plex to utilise the STB transcoder. The STB can just be set to transcode so that Plex will not receive an MPEG/MP2 stream and everything should be ok. Plex may then transcode again.
