Is there any way to get Plex to request the EPG for more days into the future? If I look up a daily programme, i can only see 3, maybe 4 recurrences (meaning that Plex only has 3-4 days EPG). Sometimes I want to schedule something that’s almost a week into the future.
When I used to use Kodi with NextPVR, I used to be able to set the days in advance the EPG was retreived. Is this possible? Hidden in a secret config file perhaps?
Or is this a limitation of the ‘Freeview’ EPG? (I’m in Melbourne, Australia… and all the other EPGs available seem like ***)
Plex should be downloading 14 days of programming. Just checked my recording schedule and I am showing recordings that are scheduled out until August 3. Should see August 4 tonight after update.
Damn. Must be the EPG… as of this morning (23rd) i only have about 2.5 days of EPG…
Two suggestions:
- Turn off the Enhanced Program Guide option
- Extend the time window that scheduled tasks runs. Scheduled Tasks might be taking longer than the time you have allowed and the program guide might not be completing.
You can also manually update by gong to the DVR settings and clicking the link to update the program guide.
Thanks John - tried both of these but unfortunately still only getting approx 5 days’ EPG.
I even enabled the new feature to update the EPG more frequently.
I can also confirm that the guide source (Freeview) definitely has EPG info past this time, as I’ve checked on their website.
Is there some other possible solution to this?
A Plex Employee @keithah @BigWheel would probably want logs.
I can definitely provide them - which logs in particular? Is there a PVR specific one?
@keithah @BigWheel Would I be able to provide logs to you to help fix this issue?
post your logs, i’l have a look through see if can see anything.
- stop PMS
- clean your logs folder
- start plex
- go start a manual epg download, and let it complete, DON’T touch plex web until finished.
- download logs in the
HELP
section of PMS settings.
post the zip here.
That’s awesome, thankyou! I think I left it go a fair bit longer than what was required… but I guessed better that there’s too much info rather than not enough…
hey @andyblac1974 - just wondering if you had a chance to look through those logs yet? Thanks!
this seems to be working now. like most things with plex, you never actually get an answer, the issue just gets fixed about 6 months later.
