Hello,
I’ve been running Plex for a while now, apps mostly from Windows PC and Android TV so far. Happiness from the start until today.
My 6 y/o girl is sick, confined to her bedroom. No TV in the bedroom, for obvious reasons. She wants to watch her TV shows and I thought it would be easy as pie with Plex installed on a Samsung tablet. Alas, no way to have the program guide on the android mobile app. I did try to switch it to TV mode but all it can do is switch back to mobile mode. I don’t want to put a TV in her bedroom cause I’ll never be able to get it out of there. Obviously, I’ll have to find a workaround.
I understand it’s not available after searching a bit. I don’t understand why though. And my little girl is sad and so am I cause she is…
So, the questions:
Will the program guide be available at some point?
I cannot provide you with the reasoning or any ETA (nor confirmation if there’s any plans to add grid view to the Android mobile client).
All I can tell (and wanted to add) is that the grid schedule is not the only way to access the program guide https://support.plex.tv/articles/225877387-program-guide/
There exists a feature suggestion to add the grid schedule… but apparently this suggestion has yet to draw some attention (looks like not even the OP voted for it)
The Plex app was downloaded from Google Play store. The screenshots were taken from the article.
What I was seeing on the top bar is like yours with the exception there is a larger blank space between the server name and the search button because it’s a 10 inches tablet.
And I was not seeing the lower bar with the EPG options at all. A reboot of the tablet fixed that.
Thanks for that screenshot @OttoKerner. You just gave my little girl a big smile.
