I cannot get the epg123.xmltv file to load on my NAS (WD MyCloud PR2100) server. I have tried every possible combination I can think of, but I still get the message “Unable to load channel mappings”. Just for kicks, I set up a Plex server on my laptop, and everything works just fine. Any ideas?
I only have Windows machines here so was never able to check the other OS/plug-ins for Plex to try and experiment. It could be simply that those variants of Plex don’t work for XMLTV. Suggestions to help diagnose/troubleshoot:
Try an XMLTV file from another source.
Use epg123 to only download a single station on a single channel; see if that imports.
Use epg123 to download a single station on multiple channels; see if that imports.
The above should at least direct to where the Plex problem is.
Another user of epg123 had a problem with the file location on his WD NAS. I had found out the location and I provided him with that information. He replied that he was able to successfully load the XMLTV file. I don’t think the problem is with the file. I must have some setting or something not quite right that is causing me the problem. I am considering uninstalling Plex and deleting all the files from the NAS thinking that a complete reinstall might fix the problem.
One other thing I found trying to load the HDHomeRun Premium channels is that 4 channels were missing in the XMLTV file. CNN, HLN, CSPAN, and the Food channels were missing.
I have uploaded a new set of logs. The first instance of failure was at 3:27pm on 11/11, second instance was at 3:28pm on 11/11, and the last instance of failure was at 3:58pm on 11/11.
I was hoping we would find some resolution for this. I have seen this issue reported by a couple different users, but have found no cause. I have even successfully imported another users file without issue that was giving the “Unable to load channel mappings” error for them.
I finally got around to trying this out. The beta version works just fine. All the channels mapped properly and the guide is loading slowly but surely. Thanks for staying after this.
