Hi,
I have big collection of home videos gathered over 20 years and I would like to access this collection through Plex. All my videos’ names have a date first, a number, then a description of the content. E.g. 2005-07-01-Wedding-Sarah-George-Ceremony, 2005-07-02-Wedding-Sarah-George-Dinner etc. I have done some tests in Plex where I have added my videos as a TV show, and I am using “Personal Media Shows” as agent. It works fairly well, but…
I have one big problem. I would like the name of the episode to automatically be the name of the file, but I haven’t been able to do that. I do get a custom name on the episode, but it only shows the date and number. So, for the example of Sarah and George’s wedding, I get “2005-07-01” as title for episode one, and “2005-07-02” as title for episode two. But I would really want “2005-07-01-Wedding-Sarah-George-Ceremony” to be the name of episode 1 and “2005-07-02-Wedding-Sarah-George-Dinner” the name of episode 2, not just the date and number.
This happens when I don’t have an exif title. But it also happens when I put the whole filename as the exif title of the file. I have also experimented with using spaces instead of “-” in the filename, but that didn’t make a difference either. I also changed the file format to “s01e01-Wedding-Sarah-George-Dinner”etc. but then it only showed the title as “Episode 1” etc.
Any ideas how I can get this to work?
