Episode titles not pulling down from thetvdb.com

Hey all,

I’ve got kind of a weird situation going on. I ripped some dvds into .mp4 files and placed them into my media library. During the ripping process I renamed the episodes to the appropriate format (i.e. s01e01, etc). The episodes are appearing in my library successfully and in the proper order, however, instead of pulling the episode titles down with the rest of the meta data the episode titles are all appearing in the default format of the burning program. So s01e01 is in the proper season and in the proper order, but instead of the episode title it shows “Zorro_s1_D1_TItle1”. I’ve performed the plex dance and all other traditional troubleshooting steps, but the episode titles remain the same. I checked the properties of the file to see if maybe it was titled as such during the burning process, but all fields are blank as per the default. I’m really confused, any ideas?

The Chrystal Ball reports you’re using MP4/M4V files with bogus embedded metadata in the Title Field.

Moving Local Media Assets out of the top slot is easier than removing all those bogus embedded titles in your MP4/M4V files. I do both. I also wear a belt and suspenders.

Anyway, drag local media assets to the bottom of every agent list in TV Shows and Movies - all tabs. Enabled, but Demoted to last place. Plex will stop giving bogus titles tip-top priority and concentrate on your good file names and structures instead… you said they were good. Let’s hope they’re good.

Plex Agents:

This did the trick, I hadn’t even looked at the agent order. Thanks!
