For the last several weeks, I find that TV episodes would stop playing about 1-3 minutes for the end (a screen that would normally show at the end of an episodes comes up). I realized that this occurs on all episodes on which I fast-forward, even minimally. This happens regardless of whether subtitles are turned on.
The episodes do not stop playing if I don’t fast forward.
I can include logs if needed

I am having a similar problem. This occurs about 1 or 2 minutes before the end. I watch quite a lot od material with subtitles and it certainly happens with them. I have not paid enough attention to know if there is a pattern.
Is there any explanation or way around this?
I use a windows 10 server via a Roku to either a TV to projector.
This seems a longstanding issue, I have seen posts going back to 2015.Advice much appreciated,

I’m having the same issue. Latest Plex server and Roku client. It only happens when transcoding, but happens whether I have HW enabled or not.
