Error accessing library from Windows Media Player

Installed the latest plex server 0.9.7

Added all my media

I can see all movies from the web no issues

Keep in mind all my issues are local my servers are not published.

 

Tried to connect to Plex by using Windows Media player when is trying to read the library i get error, i cant seem to find why is failing.

 

Even windows media player on the same Windows 8 64bit machine where the plex server is installed get the same error

 

Error is : the remote media library did not allow the connection

 

any help is greatly apreciated

Did you ever manage to resolve your issues with connecting the the Plex Server from Windows Media Player?

I'm having exactly the same issues on my home LAN when I try to access any content from my Windows 7 (64 bit) PC. I have set-up the server and and I can see it in my list of media devices under Media Player however I get the following message in Media Player when I try to click view any content:

The remote media library did not allow the connection. Please contact the device manufacturer for more information.

I can view Plex server content from my Sony smart TV and I can also play content from the Plex/Web interface so the issue only seems to be linked to Windows Media Player.

Fairly new to the forum I see but if you do search for Plex and Windows Media Player you will find some hits. You could do the search in Google Found these two for you which probably still reflect the current position:
