ERROR - CERT: Error acquiring new certificate: Failed to upload CSR: 429

Server Version#: Plex Media Server v1.32.5.7349-8f4248874 - Ubuntu PC x86_64 - build: linux-x86_64 debian

Hi there,

I’m getting an error in Plex Media Server.log:

Aug 08, 2023 03:39:37.756 [140387274406712] ERROR - CERT: Error acquiring new certificate: Failed to upload CSR: 429, <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<errors>
  <error code="1003" message="API rate limit exceeded" status="429"/>
</errors>

I can’t seem to access the web server of the linux box at http://internal.ip:32400/web either :frowning:

Is this something that I can fix?

Or should I attach some logs here?

@mig39

Your server kept requesting a new certificate.

It appears to happen with each restart.

Check the permissions of /var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application Suport/Plex Media Server/Cache and the files in it.

Everything should be owned by the user PMS runs as (plex:plex is the default)

I have reset your certificate. PMS will download it at next restart

It’s best you correct the core problem first.

Thanks! I think I know what’s causing the issue, and will fix it.

Meanwhile your certificate fox has worked and I am able to see the server again.

Thanks for your help.
